Its Cold Outside ........

and dark.  So coming out to an evening yoga class is a struggle.  The sofa, fire and TV seem more welcoming than usual; definitely more enticing than lots of planks and down dogs, so why do we do it? We know that we feel better after a good old yoga session and that’s because:-

*  It shakes off any sluggishness (we tend to exercise less in the winter)

*  It increases the metabolism (it needs it after Christmas!)

*  It puts our joints through a good range of motion

*  Releases stiffness in our muscles and increases flexibility

*  Improves sleep and digestion

*  Encourages deeper breathing

*  Brings about a sense of calm

*  Coming to a class is sociable (we tend to see fewer people in the winter)

*  It's a positive thing to do - full stop!

There you have several reasons for getting off the sofa and onto a yoga mat - what are you waiting for?
